In short: Mona asks you for nothing and collects nothing about you. No account, no cookies, no analytics, no ads. Your images are analyzed in your browser and sent nowhere. But a few services inevitably see your visit go by: they are all listed here, without exception.
What Mona never does
- no account, no sign-up, no form;
- no cookies, no tracking, no “pixel”;
- no analytics tool: not Google Analytics, not Vercel Analytics, nothing else;
- no ads, and no data sold or given to anyone;
- the author sees neither your images, nor your reports, nor the sites you analyze.
Your images and the tab you share
The AI models are downloaded from this site, then run in your browser. The image you drop, or the tab you share, is analyzed on your device, then forgotten when you close the page. Nothing is sent to the author or to a third-party service. Your browser asks your permission before sharing a tab; only the tab you choose is seen, and sharing stops as soon as the analysis starts.
What stays on your device
- Your reports: saved in your browser's storage (IndexedDB database “mona”), on this device only. You can export or delete them from “My analyses”.
- A test address: only if you open the site with
?api=in the address (for testing), it is kept for as long as the tab is open (sessionStorage “mona-api”).
That's all. Clearing the site's data in your browser erases everything.
What others still see
- The host, Vercel (United States): like any host, it receives your IP address and keeps technical logs (date, page requested, browser) to run and protect the site. The author does not use them to track visitors.
- Fonts, scripts and models: all served by this same site. No calls to Google Fonts, a CDN or an advertising service.
- GitHub (Microsoft): if you click a GitHub link or download the ZIP, GitHub sees your visit, under its own policy.
- Google Search Console: the site is registered there to see how it appears in Google searches. The author only sees totals (searches, clicks), never who you are, and nothing is added to the page.
- If you write to the author: your email address and message arrive in their Gmail inbox (Google). They are only used to reply to you, and are deleted if you ask.
Analyzing an address (URL)
It is not available on the site today. If it ever is, the address you type will be sent to a capture server that opens the page, scrolls it and sends back screenshots. That server will be named here before it is switched on.
The local app
It runs on your computer and sends nothing to the author. To analyze an address, it opens the site in a browser on your machine: that site sees a normal visit from your IP address. On installation, it downloads Python packages (PyPI) and a test Chrome browser (Playwright, Microsoft) once: those services see that download.
Check for yourself
The app's code can be read on GitHub. You can also open your browser's developer tools (Network tab): you will see that the page only contacts this site.
Your rights
Mona keeps no personal data about you: there is nothing to view, correct or delete on the author's side, except an email you may have sent. For any question or request: liamdb.work (at) gmail (dot) com.
Changes
If Mona changes the way it handles your data, this page will be updated beforehand, and the date at the top will change.
